SHAWN WALDRON is a New York City-based photography curator with twenty years experience working with photographic archives, collections and creators. Along with organizing dozens of exhibitions, he has written and lectured on photography for publishers and institutions in the US and overseas. He holds a Master’s Degree in Archive Management from Simmons College.
In 2017, Shawn joined Getty Images as Curator of Print Sales and Exhibitions. He is responsible for the Getty Images Gallery exhibitions and content, oversees the offering on Getty's e-comm wall decor business photos.com, and manages the archive of Slim Aarons, the 20th century’s premier lifestyle photographer.
Shawn was editor and co-author of the 2021 monograph Slim Aarons: Style and author of the best selling Slim Aarons: The Essential Collection released in the fall of 2023. Shawn is a contributor and Editorial Advisor for Musee magazine. See the Exhibitions/CV page for further details and projects.
Prior to joining Getty Images, Shawn was Archive Director at Condé Nast for more than a decade. He revamped and modernized the storied publisher's archival program and was founding curator of the Condé Nast Gallery at 1WTC.
Shawn is available to curate exhibitions, and provide consultation for archive projects, book proposals and/or editing, produce original essays, or work on digitization projects.
